Jam-Packed Soccer Dribbling Drill
The whole team dribbles around a cone circle and jumps on your calls — JOG, FULL SPEED, CUT back the other way, or CROSS straight through the crowded middle.
Confidence dribbling through congested areas — heads up, ball close, arms out for balance, and both feet doing the work.
Set up · 3 actions · before the kids arrive

One thing to remember: Dribbling through congestion — looking ahead with the head up, keeping the ball close, arms up and out for balance and shielding, and using both feet and all parts of the foot.
How it runs — the whole game in one sentence
Everyone dribbles the same direction around the circle and obeys your calls — JOG, FULL SPEED, CUT back the other way, or CROSS through the middle without hitting anyone.
1Organize the players▾
Coach does
Spread the players around the outside of the circle, each with a ball, everyone dribbling the same direction.
Coach says
Around the circle, everyone — same direction, ball at your feet.

Coach does
Walk the four calls — JOG is dribbling at a comfortable speed; FULL SPEED is their top speed; CUT means cut the ball and travel the other direction around the circle; CROSS sends everyone cutting straight across the grid at once, avoiding every player and every ball.
Coach says
Listen for my voice. JOG. FULL SPEED. CUT — turn it around. CROSS — straight through the middle without touching anybody!

Coach does
Mix the calls and hold the habits — heads up and looking ahead on every CROSS, since the whole team enters the center at the same time; the ball close in traffic; arms up and out for balance and shielding; both feet and all parts of the foot on the ball.
Coach says
CROSS! Eyes ahead, ball close — arms out and find your gap!
Look for: Eyes ahead in the middle — every player looking up and steering around the traffic on a CROSS, not plowing through it.
4Switch and repeat▾
Coach does
Keep the rounds rolling and think up commands of your own to add to the list — this drill is meant to be both helpful and fun, so have fun with it.
Coach says
Back on the circle — and listen close, I've got a brand-new call coming.
If it's not working
If CROSS turns into a pileup, widen the circle while they dribble — more room through the middle — then pull it back in as the eyes come up.
Want to go deeper? Optional — not needed to run the game.

What are they learning?
How can I change it?
Harder: Add new commands of your own to the call list.
