One thing to remember: Accurate passing under pressure, agility, fitness, a good first touch, and a high work rate.
How it runs — the whole game in one sentence
Corner players serve toward the middle — the worker hurdles their resting partner, receives, knocks the ball to the right, and turns to meet the next serve from the far side.
1Organize the players▾
Coach does
Put one player on each corner of the grid and send two to the middle. One middle player works while the other rests with their hands on their knees. Give the balls to two opposite corners.
Coach says
One of you on each corner. You two — middle. One works, one rests, hands on your knees.

Coach does
Walk one rep — a corner player passes toward the resting player; the working player jumps over their resting partner, receives the ball, and knocks it to the player on their right. The moment that pass goes back, the corner player on the other side of the grid serves toward the resting player, and the worker jumps them again.
Coach says
Jump your partner, take the ball, pass to your right — then turn quick, the next one's already coming.
3Play▾
Coach does
Run it continuously — each player works for 60 seconds. Watch the first touch, the accuracy of the passes, and the work rate.
Coach says
Sixty seconds — work! Soft first touch, sharp pass!
Look for: Accurate passes on a good first touch — the work rate staying high without the passing going sloppy.
4Switch and repeat▾
Coach does
After 60 seconds, rotate all the players so everyone gets a turn working. For later rounds, call one- or two-touch, ask for the inside and the outside of the foot, or have the corner players move close and serve with their hands for volleys.
Coach says
Rotate — new worker in! This round it's two touches, nothing more.
If it's not working
If the pattern keeps dying, pull the corner players in while play runs — shorten the serves until the rhythm comes back.
