Inside of the Foot Passing Warm-up
Two lines pass through a small cone window and chase their own pass to the other side — every pass a visible test of inside-of-the-foot accuracy.
Accuracy is what the inside-of-the-foot pass is for, and a 4-yard window shows every player — and everyone watching — whether their pass had it.
Set up · 3 actions · before the kids arrive
- Grab: Two cones for the window and the balls.
- Build: Build a small window — two cones about 4 yards apart.
- Place: Split the team evenly into two lines about 6 yards from the window on opposite sides, facing each other; the player in front of one line starts with the ball.

One thing to remember: Accuracy when passing with the inside of the foot — a clean first touch, toe up and ankle locked, a smooth strike, and good pace on the ball.
How it runs — the whole game in one sentence
The front player passes through the window to the opposite line and sprints around the outside to join the back of it, while the receiver takes a touch and plays it back through.
1Organize the players▾
Coach does
Split the team evenly into two lines, each about 6 yards from the window, facing each other. Give the ball to the player in front of one line.
Coach says
Two even lines, facing each other. That little window in the middle is your target — every pass goes through it.

Coach does
Walk the loop — the first player passes through the window to the first player in the other line, then follows the pass by sprinting around the outside of the window to the back of the other line. The receiver takes a touch and plays it back through to the next player, and it repeats.
Coach says
Pass through the window, then chase it — sprint around the outside to the back of their line. Receivers — one touch to settle, then play it through.
3Play▾
Coach does
Keep the loop running and coach the technique — a clean first touch, toe up and ankle locked, a smooth strike with the inside of the foot, good pace on the ball, and accuracy between the cones.
Coach says
Toe up, ankle locked! Good pace — right between the cones!
Look for: The strike — toe up, ankle locked, the ball hit smoothly with the inside of the foot, arriving with good pace between the cones.
4Switch and repeat▾
Coach does
Keep it repeating — the sprint to the other line does the switching for you. For a later round, pass in one-touch.
Coach says
New round — one touch only. No settling it first!
If it's not working
If passes keep missing the window, widen it while they play — then walk it back in as the accuracy comes.
